A. About Design Assisted

Who do you work with?
We work with interior design firms throughout the United States, from solo designers to boutique teams and large design-build firms.

What makes your services different from hiring an in-house assistant?
Unlike traditional in-house hires, our team requires little to no training. Our project managers are highly experienced professionals with backgrounds in interior design firms and construction companies. We can begin creating billable hours from day one. Think of us as a virtual interior design assistant, but with the experience of a full design firm.

Do you only work with interior designers?
While most of our clients are interior designers, we also partner with architects and contractors.

B. Services & Support

What types of tasks can your team handle?
We manage sourcing, data entry, digital presentations, memo ordering, procurement, logistics, 2D drafting, and 3D photorealistic rendering. Think of us as an interior design firm for interior designers.

Do you help with procurement and vendor communication?
Yes. We work in platforms such as Materio, Studio Designer, Mydoma, Ivy, Houzz Pro, and Design Files. We collaborate with trade and retail showrooms, custom workrooms, and vendors nationwide, leveraging strong relationships to streamline procurement and logistics.

Can you create SOPs and workflows for my business?
Absolutely. We begin documenting SOPs as soon as we start working with you. This creates a resource for both your team and ours, ensuring consistency and making future training easier.

C. Pricing & Packages

How do you price your services?
We sell hourly packages in denominations of 30, 45, or 60 hours per month.

Do you offer monthly retainers or project-based pricing?
Yes. Most clients prefer our monthly retainer packages, but we can also price per project based on a percentage, depending on scope and complexity.

What is the minimum commitment to get started?
We ask new clients to commit to three months. This gives us time to learn your processes, document workflows, and dedicate the right number of hours to your projects without overcommitting.

D. Process & Onboarding

What does the onboarding process look like?
Onboarding begins with a one-hour call where you’ll meet your project manager and members of our team. We walk through your client journey—from how clients find you through to installation—so we can align with your business processes from the start.

How long does it take before you’re fully integrated with my team?
Most clients are fully integrated within 30 days, as long as lines of communication are clear during the first month.

What tools and software do you use?
Our team is proficient in industry software such as Materio, Studio Designer, Mydoma, Ivy, Houzz Pro, and Design Files, along with drafting and design programs including AutoCAD, Chief Architect, and SketchUp. We also use business and productivity tools like ClickUp, Asana, Dubsado, Loom, and Reclaim.ai.

How will working with Design Assisted save me time?
Our services remove tasks from your to-do list so you can focus on design, client outreach, marketing, or simply taking time off. The work we perform is designed to be billable, ensuring your business continues to grow while you redirect your energy to other priorities.

Do you have examples of designers who scaled their businesses with your help?
Yes. We’ve supported dozens of designers who have doubled their capacity, built teams, and found balance in their schedules by outsourcing project management and operations to us.

What if I already have an assistant — can you work with them?
Yes. We frequently collaborate with in-house assistants or team members. This often saves the designer even more time, since they don’t have to act as the main point of contact.

Do you work with clients outside the United States?
At this time, we work with clients within the United States and Puerto Rico.

How do you protect my business information?
We use secure, encrypted software and safeguard all of your files, communications, and vendor relationships. Confidentiality and professionalism are at the core of our work.

Can I try your services before committing long term?
The only à la carte services we currently offer are drafting and 3D rendering. For ongoing support, we require a three-month commitment to ensure we can properly integrate with your business and provide consistent, high-quality results.
